  • It will allow you to easily add smart contracts to traditional WEB2 sites
  • And WEB3 projects connect to WEB2 services
  • The project's partners are Amazon, Meta and Google Cloud

Chainlink is launching a platform to implement WEB3 into traditional WEB2 sites. It’s called Chainlink Functions and is already available in beta. The tool works on the Ethereum Sepolia and Polygon Mumbai testnets.

So, Chainlink Functions will allow developers to connect smart contracts to existing Web2 APIs. And also access social media signals, messengers, AI calculations, and other data. This will happen through the highly secure Chainlink network. That is, as a result, programmers will create a “hybrid” of Web2 and Web3 without the need to build a new resource.

The project partners are AWS, Meta and Google Cloud. They will use their cases to show how to “make friends” between traditional sites and Web3 technology.

Chainlink Functions will also be useful for Web3 developers. They will integrate with external resources via API, and there will be no need to launch their own infrastructure for this.

To join the beta version, you need to apply on the Chainlink website. In the future, they promise to add more useful tools.

Last summer, the brand launched the Chainlink VRF tool, which allows smart contracts to access number generators without compromising security or usability.
