  • Sony Electronics in Singapore has started accepting USDC for payment of goods.
  • For now, only online store customers can buy goods for stablecoins using the Crypto.com crypto exchange service.
  • Sony continues to implement cryptocurrency and blockchain solutions.

Sony Electronics Singapore has officially launched USDC stablecoin payment options on its online store. Payments are made through Crypto.com, marking the company's first step towards direct cryptocurrency transactions in Singapore.

The feature is currently only available for online purchases by Sony Store Online customers and exclusively through Crypto.com Pay.

“Partnering with a brand like Sony will help popularize cryptocurrency payments. While only USDC is supported now, Sony plans to add other cryptocurrencies in the future ,” said Crypto.com Singapore CEO Chin Tah Ang.

Let us recall that the USDC issuer, Circle, received a license to operate in Singapore in 2023.

Sony is also actively expanding its adoption of Web3 solutions. In early 2025, the company launched Soneium, a dedicated Ethereum L2 network through Sony Block Solutions Labs. The network supports digital collectibles, content creator tools, and game economies.

Soneium also added support for USDC bridge, allowing the stablecoin to be used for transactions in on-chain applications.

It should be noted that Soneium plans to attract up to 200 million users thanks to its partnership with the LINE messenger.
